Leading couture and bridal designer, Anamika Khanna, opened India’s 2021 Lakme x FDCI Fashion week runway with her Timeless the World collection.

 

Her work is highly coveted amongst Desi households worldwide and has dressed glamorous stars like Sonam Kapoor, Samantha Akkineni, Madhuri Dixit, and  the Kapoor sisters.

 

The heterogenous textiles showcased in this collection pay homage to the multiple, intricate textile regions and demographics found across India. The contemporary silhouettes demonstrate evolving concepts for traditional wear for men & women within the Desi community and beyond.

 

Khanna implements alternate draping techniques, allowing a lehenga structure to be unaccompanied by the traditional dupatta and slits to show off the legs in a time period where women, unfortunately, are unsafe because of fashion choices.
